The Korean Peninsula, which has been filled with chaos and disorder from the Korean War for over half a century is finally in the vicinity of an official end to the war. Recently North Korea and South Korea are interested in discussing a much needed end to the lethal Korean War. Early in October 2007, the Six Party Talks (DPRK, ROK, US, PRC, Russia and Japan ) all have appeared to start agreeing on certain issues. They all wish to sign a document stating that DPRK ends the nuclear activity that the Yongbyon nuclear complex is constructing by the end of 2007 if not sooner. The United States who is an influential power in East Asia is assisting in this matter and first requires a complete closure on the DPRK's nuclear agenda.
The DPRK is agreeing to shut down the Yougbyon nuclear complex in exchange for a variety of things from the countries of ROK and US such as being taken off the list of state sponsors of terrorism and 300 million dollars of foreign aid, including fuel oil. The Islamic Nation of Bahrain does support this decision completely. Bahrain feels that if this document were to be legitimately authorized then many other countries with nuclear programs would also be willing to negotiate on gathered terms of shutting down nuclear activity. It is Bahrain's hope and will that these countries continue the Six Party Talks and work this with utmost importance to find a safe and peaceful way of resolving this issue.
