War can present devasting effects on the enviornment. From the many hazardous weapons and chemical sprayings that are involved when it comes to war, many environmental effects are brought about. One of war's biggest impacts is its effect on drinking water. All of the bombings and chemicals being release into the enviroment during war, causes chemicals to leak, thus polluting the air, soil, and water.Many times, its not only the actual phyiscal damage done during war that has an impact on agriculture. Financing war does too. Extensive timber looging to finance war efforts, sometimes lead to deforestation. Deforestation may lead to severe flooding, damaging crops and causing a shortage in food. Animals die during war from toxicants, crops are destroyed by the acid rain, and soil erosion occurs, due to movement of heavy machinery. All of this corruption on agriculture, leads to broken economies.
France is currently the second leading nation in agriculture. Since France's last involvement in war events, one of our main focuses has been engaging in agriculture related events. With nearly 730 thousand farms, approximately 7 percent of our workforce is employed in agriculture. France's las involvement in war, was during World War II, and we have made significant efforts to modernize French agricultural production since then.
France is aware of the impact that War World II had on the European Union's agriculture and its food supply. Knowing this, France strives to stray away from war involvement, and encourages the same to all nations. We also would like to see a resolution that expresses the benefits of using more scientific methods and modern equipment, when overcoming war effects on agriculture.
