In recent times, post election decisions are rarely pursued internationally. There are usually riots and torment throughout some nations after an election. Especially those nations that are in transition to form a democracy. Currently, post election peace is usually very hard to come by in the international community. The UN plays a critical role in helping these countries throughout the international community establish post election peace.
Our recent election in Lebanon has been very vital to us regaining our freedom and democracy. In Lebanon, there it is a matter of change. We must force the militia out, but it won’t happen without a fight. This change will take several years. We are also currently receiving help from the IFES ( International Foundation for Electoral Systems). They are working with the citizens in the Lebanese society and government representatives to establish an agreement and bring peace. The United Nations also insure that the elections are meaningful to the citizens of Lebanon. Our nation is trying to find a way to establish this peace permanently. Lebanon requests the individual help of the United Nations to eliminate conflict within our nation. We feel that they have a responsibility to recognize these situations and develop substantial aid to our nation.
Lebanon is aware of the United Nations concern with the well-being of our nation. We feel that the international community should bind together and contribute to promoting peace internationally. We recognize that we aren’t the only nation with these requests. With the help of the UN, in due time we will have peaceful post-election transitions throughout all nations.
