The country of Japan completely supports industrialization, but believes governments, businesses, and industries should aim to increase the efficiency with which they use resources by increasing the quantities of residues that are reused and recycled, and reducing the quantities of waste discharged from economic output. Japan, along with the other G-8 nations: France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, Canada, the US and England are all highly industrialized countries. Industrialized nations typically build factories, highways, and produce and use consumer goods on a grand scale; accordingly, many misinformed developing nations have claimed that we have polluted Earth's air and water, depleted its resources, and destroyed sensitive habitats. To view industrialization in this way is entirely pessimistic; industrialization is a critical process in all growing nations. The industrialization of Japan has influenced other countries, such as India and China, two rapidly industrializing countries, to use more sustainable technologies and to expand their nations’ economies responsibly. Many nations are quickly following the sustainable path that Japan followed to economic eminence as they begin manufacturing, urbanizing, and consuming on a grander scale. Further, with the role we, Japan, and the rest of the G-8 countries have played in the industrialization movement, we have revolutionized the middle class by making the comforts of computers, cell phones, and new technologies affordable.
We believe that the UN should support other countries, and encourage them to also become industrialized; industrialization brings jobs, money, and the aforementioned luxuries to a nation’s economy.
We believe that developing nations should industrialize using the new sustainable technologies that the global market currently offers. Sustainable industrialization could include creating new business headquarters in eco-friendly buildings that use renewable energy such as solar power as energy for the entire corporation. In the current modern age, there are many ways to run a business efficiently and ecologically-friendly. In conclusion, the country of Japan believes that we can solve this problem with a mutually advantageous solution. We welcome any suggestions and constructive criticism on how to create an agreeable and responsible solution to the issue of sustainable technology in developing nations.
