Throughout the international community, ethnic and sectarian conflict have been continuous complications that affect several nations in some way. Everyone throughout the international community has some type of understanding of the inhumane acts of injustice taking place in various nations because of ethnic discrimination. When it comes to the issue of a sectarian rule in a nation, there are multiple issues to be addressed, starting with a internal examination of that particular nation.
The different conflicts in Lebanon, in regards to ethnic and sectarian issues include the current situation taking place between the pro-government workers, and opposition armed militias. The Lebanese Army splintered along sectarian lines and left Lebanon hostage to scores of militias, "liberation groups, and street gangs that align themselves with foreign powers to gain advantage in the bloody internecine warfare. In our nation sectarianism is the dominant social, economic, and political reality. Lebanon is a crazy quilt of clannish ethnic and religious groups that historically have been suspicious and resentful of central government. We are aware of the limitations of the UN peacekeeping troops, and suggest that they provide aide to all the nations that need it, while also respecting the sovereignty of the nation
The nation of Lebanon is clearly aware of the importance of sectarian and ethnic conflicts within a nation and is pleading for the aid of the international community to help turn that around. We also ask the UN to continue to stay involved in these sectarian and ethnic conflicts until there is progress.
