The violence in Palestinian territory has been going on for centuries. Although much of the fighting has slowed down, too much violence is still going on. Many attempts have been made at true mediation, but none have carried very much success. Even now, too many other countries are adding to the fray by funding either side of the conflict, whether it be Israeli or Palestine. In time, the war's influence would continue to spread to more nations, stirring more hatred and more violence. Culturally, the nation of Norway is very peaceful and a participating member of the North Atlantic Trade Organization. Therefore, Norway is looking for preserving world peace and one of the biggest conflicts going on now is this war around Israel.
Norway proposes to resolve this issue by first gaining an organized group supporting a peace treaty in the area. Once a firm organization is established, the countries in this group, along with help from NATO, other countries in the United Nations, NGO's, the European Union and others, a working treaty could possibly be established with a fair resolution for both sides. Norway has no alliance or favoritism between Israel or Palestine, only for the general peace. We expect that our allies will be mostly other European nations and perhaps some other semi-developed nations with peaceful intentions. Norway would be opposed to any one-sided intervention for that would likely spur more fighting and also be very controversial within the UN itself. Also, we would be opposed to no resolution being passed because some action needs to be made, even if it isn't all that substantial.
