The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has been unfairly accused for illegal actions. In April of 2003, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was accused of smuggling $50 million worth of Heroin by ship to Australia. These allegations are false. The United States of America has been conducting a smear campaign against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, claiming that they have been involved in illegal heroin and other drug trafficking. The United States of America is trying to increase international pressure on the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to shut down their nuclear program. In committee, it must be discussed how the United States of America is bending the truth trying to make the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea look bad. This is not peaceful and must not be tolerated. A resolution should be passed to punish countries that lie to make other countries look bad. A country that may share this concern and may help the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea pass a resolution of this sort is the Islamic Republic of Iran. Iran has been the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s trading partner for some time, and would have special interests in helping them. Also, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been receiving negative media coverage in many countries which it may feel is not fair. That would be motivation for Iran to want to pass this resolution with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
