Times are changing. The world is shrinking, and as it does it becomes clearer and clearer that computers and technology are becoming some of the most powerful weapons on the battlefield. Countries store their secrets, technological, militaristic, and many others. This can potentially make a nation extremely vulnerable if they are hacked. Hackers and their viruses are becoming stronger every day, secrets are becoming less and less safe. The country of Argentina has fairly recently begun to start establishing serious cyber warfare defenses after some attacks in 2010. They are developing several defense programs to protect themselves in the future. It needs to be the United Nations duty to ensure cyber security is not only taken seriously, but is also helped to develop. Laws and treaties need to be made to help prevent cyber attacks in the first place. In a perfect world cyber defense wouldn't be necessary, but unfortunately we don't live in perfect world. Cyber attacks are very real and very serious. If most countries can ally against cyber attacks, then most countries would become much safer. It would be much easier to defend a nation from attacks when most countries are a part of a treaty against cyber attacks. Cyber warfare is becoming more and more prominent in our world today, and will continue to do so. To prepare for the future defenses against cyber attacks must be taken, and to ensure as many countries as possible remain safe, the United Nations need to help push through treaties, and encourage cyber defenses.
