The Food and Agricultural Organization is the branch of the United Nations assigned to eliminate world hunger. Due to the work of the United Nations, countries such as Morocco and Chile have achieved the goal of cutting by half the number of their respective people who had suffered from hunger between the years 1990 and 2014. These numbers show the worlds ability to decrease and potentially eradicate world hunger entirely.
Due to a worldwide lack of attention, supply, and support, an estimated 41 percent of Bangladeshi children below 5 years of age suffer from chronic undernutrition or stunting and subsequently are unable to develop to their full physical and mental potential. These effects last a lifetime. Similarly, in Bangladesh the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees attempts to provide not only protection and assistance to refugees residing in camps, but also to help address their humanitarian needs and ensure that a minimum standard of living is met. Due to the spiked population of refugees in South East Asian countries such as (listed in order of severity) Bangladesh, Thailand and Malaysia, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh considers the support of this universal aid a constitutional obligation.
It is a standing mission of The People's Republic of Bangladesh to promote and protect every Bangladeshi individual and their birthrights. In accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Bangladesh makes a point to advocate for the worldwide necessity of adequate and nutritious food to the public, as well as support, and protect the populations of refugees. Every individual has the right to a standard of living, and it is the obligation of the United Nations to fulfill this standard and fiat panis- let there be bread.
