A.)Commodities can be good or bad; it can lead to wealth but can also lead to conflict at the same time. Brutal conflicts occur when rare commodities are forced to areas that are already impoverished and destitute. The illegal diamond trade in the Ivory Coast and Liberia has been noticed by the UN lately. The UN have been getting reports about armed guards forcing the local people to farm cocoa viciously regardless the inhumane way they treat them. They use the cocoa grown to pay for arms and supplies for their own conflicts.
B.)Zimbabwe is a country that has this kind of a problem itself. The delegation of Zimbabwe believes that countries that does not have to suffer from poverty and anarchy should stand up and do something for these people who are being oppressed instead of suppressing people using the advantages of a strong government and wealth. The republic of Zimbabwe does not have the ability to offer any help upon this situation, for we are suffering from the similar kind of situation ourselves.
C.)The delegation of Zimbabwe hopes that the union or even countries that have the ability, to recognize that this is an issue considering human rights and equality. The world is a family, and it is not justifiable to oppress the weaker. The delegation of Zimbabwe suggests the union to give some kind of support to these destitute and impoverished countries and stop the oppressors. We believe that it is the union’s responsibility to retain the equality and rights of all human on this planet.
