The country of Afghanistan is pleased on the results of the six party talks between the DPRK, ROK, US, PRC, Russia and Japan due to the fact that the DPRK have agreed to shut down their Yongbyon nuclear complex and to give a full accounting of its nuclear arms. We believe that this is an important step towards the warm up of relations between all parties involved and will hopefully bring an official end to the Korean War. We also believe that this is also an important step towards a nuclear free Asia which if achieved will hopefully balance the region and avoid any needless fighting between countries and will guarantee world peace between all nations. Our country has always wished for a nuclear free Asia and a peaceful resolution to all disputes between countries and the hopeful disarming of all countries nuclear arsenals. We of Afghanistan have always wanted a nuclear free Asia. We hope that the Special Political Committee will do everything in its power so as to make Asia a Nuclear free continent. We hope that all nations agree that any resolution will not infringe upon any nations Sovereignty regardless of any reason for doing so even if it doesn't guarantee a nuclear free Asia.
