Despite explicit warnings from China, Japan, and the United states. The (DPRK), Democratic peoples Republic of Korea test-fired their missiles. This action prompted an international uproar that caused tensions to rise and relations to be strained. It is of no doubt that China has been an Ally of North Korea, since the Korean war divided the peninsula. Although this incident took place, we must move ahead for the betterment of this nation. Providing North Korea with various goods, energy supplies, and other essentials has made both our nations great Allies with each other.
China believes in a strong Korean peninsula. We are heavily invested in preventing a destabilizing regime collapse that would send North Korean refugees flooding across 800-mile border that divides both our nations. Therefor we firmly believe that sanctions and other pressure tactics would be humiliating and would result in a counter productive manner.
China is very passionate about this topic and would like to see many things happen while discussing this issue. China is a P-5 member nation and a member to the (IAEA) International Atomic Energy Agency, and a member of the six-party talks. Which consists of China, Russia, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, and the United states. We would like to see the continuation of the six-party talks and the dismantling of the (DPRK’s), nuclear weapons program. Also as of recently North and South Korea signed a peace treaty that is going to end the Korean war. This treaty says that these two nations will pledge to support the ongoing denuclearization six-party talks. We feel that these, among other issues, can be resolved within this committee.
