The Korean Peninsula contains North and South Korea, which were separated after the Korean War in 1953. Today North Korea (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) and South Korea (Republic of Korea) are in a civil war. Recent global concern was rooted in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s nuclear program. Zimbabwe is aware of the DPRK’s decision to shut down their nuclear reactor, but is wary of the seriousness of this decision.
Zimbabwe is hopeful that the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea can work to form a peaceful understanding. This peaceful understanding would be beneficial to many, but especially to those citizens who are forced to leave their homes and be separated from their families as a result of the feuding governments. We also hope that they could rid them selves of their nuclear program once and for all. Zimbabwe would like to send troops to North and South Korea to help get ride of nuclear threats, but simply does not have the resources to do it.
Zimbabwe does believe it is other wealthier countries obligations to make sure North Korea is free from dangerous nuclear programs and encourage them to take a less threatening stance towards the rest of the world for its own citizens sake as well as the rest of the worlds. Zimbabwe also would like to see wealthier countries sending troops to help citizens who are being forced to flee as well as troops to make sure there are no nuclear threats.
