In Angola the first known people were the Khoisan people. This group of people was overwhelmed by the Bantu migrations. Angola was taken control of in the late fifteenth century by Portuguese explorers. As a country it became the African link to the Indian trade for Europeans . The capital was founded in fifteen eighty-seven by an explorer. On November 11, 1975 the Portuguese granted independence to the country. Just after the Portuguese left, the Angolan people made a claim for power. This left the country in ruin from 1975 to 2002. On February 22, 2002 a peace treaty was signed ending the civil war.
Currently more than seventy-five percent of Angola’s work force is occupied in agriculture. As such, less than ten percent of Angola’s population is employed in industrialization. Angola is forced to import many of its manufactured products. Those products that are domestically produce d are done using outdated methods that are often make inefficient use of energy and resources. If the UN supports, funds, and therefore helps promote increased industry in the developing world, countries such as Angola would greatly benefit.
More people would move to urban areas to work in factories, Angola and all developing countries could benefited. The countries’ economies would soar due to the influx of exported goods. The countries would be able to produce their own goods with less reliance on imports. This would cause countries to have to pay less foreign exchange because the amount of imported goods would decrease. Developing nations would be able to keep more money for development inside their own economy, without funds going to foreign nations. Industries should be encouraged to move to developing nations to increase these countries’ economies.
