Iran can speak from experience past, on the matter of post election violence. Throughout our long and glorious history as a people, we have seen empires rise and fall; governments come and go, always the harbinger of change and death. We have seen those empires, we have seen the violence that follows, and we cannot stand for it. Iran holds fast to the belief that within the transitions of leadership, the people of such a nation should not fear for their lives. They should instead know that their government is there with the purpose of protecting and serving its country.
As diplomats, as leaders of many regions around the world, it is our sacred duty to bring about the most peaceful solution to a violent situation. To this, Iran calls upon fellow nations in these volatile times, to make a universal effort, on an individualized level, to create programs with the function of insuring the peaceful transition of power within countries governments. Furthermore, its primary objective should be the prevention of such conflict and dispute. This should be obtained through extensive review and implantation of security measures that would insure a fair and peaceful election of irrefutable fact.
In light of recent events around the world, many are questioning the very ones sworn to protect them and their interests. We need to instill back within those people the comfort and security that they deserve; the knowledge that their lives and rights are being protected. It should be an outlandish fear among the people, to be afraid to cast their ballot.
It is to this that we the people of the United Nations, we the people of the world, must take all pains to insure the safety of our citizens
