Cambodia recognizes the issue of sectarian and ethnic conflict in nations throughout the world. Conflicts such as these originate from the many diverse religions, cultures and races that occupy various regions. The United Nations was created in order to keep peace, and help countries deal with conflicts that may arise not only between nations but also with them. Some countries have to deal with more serious situations of sectarian and ethnic conflicts then others.

Cambodia believes that countries should be involved with one another’s conflicts, but with limitations. Cambodia has strong support for the UN and believes that it should be involved with countries in the goal to reach a global unity of integration. It believes that a variety or different religions and cultures can come together to agree on peaceful manners in which then can be used to solve conflicts in nations.

With so many different opinions on the situations that involve this topic Cambodia is understanding to the fact that a resolution is going to take time. Getting the countries that experience sectarian and ethnic conflicts within their borders involved should be the first step. When an understatement is reached, the UN should then appeal to the nations that oppose its involvement. All nations must be involved in deciding how to handle the situations. Countries that have negative opinions should be heard, and there should be an agreement made with all nations.

The UN was created for the purpose of keeping peace; dealing with sectarian and ethnic conflicts is something that it should have a voice in. In addition, something that the UN should have control over. A resolution that has compromises from countries for and opposed is the only way the situation is going to be able to be handled.
