The United Nations has always been an organization that has upheld peace, human rights, and the forward progress of mankind. They also have great influence in international affairs. Their great programs have bettered many nations around the globe. The United nations has to respect nations' national sovereignty, and quite frankly, those nations that do not allow the UN to help them are most likely having serious internal problems, such as the regime that once ruled our country. The limitation of the UN's power and ability is a major issue. If one nations internal conflict could harm surrounding nations, and those bordering nations ask the UN to help, then by all means the UN should have the right to contain and at least attempt to calm the situation.
Iraq has a long history with help from the United Nations. Without the help of the UN, the violence in Our nation could be completely uncontrollable. We still have a way to go, but we have come a long way from the tyrannical rule of Saddam Hussein. The programs that the UN has in place have helped rebuild our nation after the former corrupt government was disbanded following of the heroic liberation of Iraq by certain democracy spreading troops. Without the United Nation's generous efforts, Iraq would still be just another self-destructive, corrupt nation.
In the coming conference we hope to do anything but further restrict the power of the UN. It would be completely beneficial to all nations if a little less limitation was imposed on the UN. Remember, we are the UNITED Nations. Let us not bicker and blame other nations. We must come together and form a solution for the good of all mankind.
