In the region known as Palestine over the past half a century there has been constant fighting over the rights to this land. Palestine is a small region of land between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River in the area know as the Middle East. The state of Israel and the Palestinian people cannot agree over who receives rights to the land and each very much so wants to claim ownership of the land. Both people groups have religious attachments to the land and claim it to be their home. The United Nations in the past fifty years has attempted multiple peaceful resolutions to solve the problem, but they have not been successful. The state of Israel and Palestinian people both will not agree to any resolution because both people groups want their way and only their way.
The Republic of Sudan firmly believes, because of the multiple past interventions and failures the United Nations has attempted with Palestine, the United Nations should not make it a strong priority to resolve the issue over Palestine. Sudan does not want to see a great number of the United Nations resources and efforts put into this issue. Sudan also believes because of the small region of land and the little impact the issue has around the globe, the United Nations has greater challenges and more important problems to face and conquer, these challenges being: access to safe drinking water, the pandemic flu, the Korea peninsula conflict, human rights, and climate change.
