The people of the Kingdom of the Netherlands have a very strong stance on nuclear activity in North Korea. The Dutch feel that the international community should increase sanctions against North Korea. In the wake of last summer’s nuclear bomb blast and missile testing, more must be done to put pressure on North Korea to stop their harmful actions.
New, stronger sanctions must be put in place to stop the reckless nuclear terrorism that North Korea currently practices.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands is stepping up their support in this regard by joining the Atomic Energy Agency’s board this fall. The Dutch are contributing 250, 000 euros (about 346,000 U.S. dollars) to the agency’s Nuclear Security Plan. This plan is designed to improve nuclear security and combat nuclear terrorism. North Korea is one of the group’s primary targets. The Kingdom of the Netherlands also urges other nations to contribute to this cause to end the possible threat of nuclear warfare between nations and North Korea.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands also sees this as an opportunity to forward the movement to end the constant possibility of nuclear warfare. The Kingdom of the Netherlands also recognizes the terrorist organization Hamas as a threat to the world.
With the growing importance of nuclear energy to combat against climate change, The Kingdom of the Netherlands believes that the international community should set non- proliferation standards and other safeguards against nuclear terrorism is observed. Politicians and experts from over sixty other countries have met this summer to discuss the ever growing fact. Along with the assistance from the United States, and Russia, more countries since 2006 have joined this initiative along with being in part of the IAEA.
