The Republic of Colombia believes that Escalating Violence in the International Drug Trade is a problem that needs to be stopped. In the past thirty years, The Republic of Colombia has had an atrocious reputation for being the largest exporter of Cocaine and other illegal drugs. With the support of many neighboring countries we have been able to take down some of the largest drug cartels in Colombia. The funds that are provided by our neighboring countries are essential in defending these drug cartels.
Our government has been fighting not only the billion dollar war on drugs, but also the rebels that are in our country. In recent years, the rebels have been financed by the trade in illegal drugs. This has caused a civil war in our country so it is even more important to control and stop the drug cartels. The civil war which is financed by the illegal drugs, has caused hundreds of deaths. What our country need to win this war on drugs in Colombia is continues support by our neighbors and members of the United Nations.
We have been closely monitoring the illegal drug trade to see if any large drug cartels arise. Our country is proud to say that we have made it very difficult for the drug trade to expand. What our county has noticed is that there are no longer any large drug cartels in Colombia which is bad thing because it makes it tougher to locate the illegal drugs. These drugs are being smuggled into Mexico and other countries like the United States. We believe that the United Nations need to on a global level get together and discuss how to protect our borders. The root of the escalating violence in the international drug trade is the drugs if we can eliminate the flow of drugs to difference parts of the world then it will also eliminate the escalating violence due to the drugs.
