Human Rights for people in Japan have guidelines and protocols. These procedures classify the rights of people with HIV. Japan's government's views on putting up these barriers are to pronounce shame on those infected. The rights of HIV positive Japanese people are controversial.
For persons with HIV in Japan life consist of scarce rights. If migrant works test positive they lose their jobs in which tie them to Japan. Women, pregnant, who test positive for HIV, are denied treatment and care during their pregnancy. Children whose parents test positive for HIV are not only shunned by the Japanese community but they are also denied education. In some cases HIV parents lose their right to raise their children because of their illness. Also in Japan, people diagnosed with this disease lose their rights to confidentiality. 17% common of diagnosed subjects have their confidentiality breached by doctors. Some are even advised to terminate any and all pregnancies that may occur. Civilians in Japan participate in abuse of HIV positive women and men in the acts of harassment and abuse. Many HIV positive individuals are forced to live else where and release all interaction with those deemed “healthy” in their community.
The rights of HIV positive individuals in Japan are taken away in more cases and ways then one. When a person is diagnosed with HIV they are shunned and their existing children are shunned. In Japan you can lose your job, home and respect when you test positive. It’s almost as if people become are aliens in a foreign place they still identify as home.
