The Republic of Colombia’s economy is revolved around certain elements that several South American countries also produce: agriculture. The problem that Colombia holds with its economy is the severe production of illegal drugs such as cocaine. That production would be the largest illegitimate exports that Colombia obtains. The large amount of cocaine that is produced in Colombia proves to be a disturbance in the country’s economy and exposes an imbalance in the government and its legitimate actions towards the stop of this illegal drug. The problem of violence associated with conflict minerals is a grave problem and is the result of many deaths in many different countries, most of which are not closely associated with the Republic of Colombia.
The Republic of Colombia seeks and embraces diplomatic relations with all countries, regardless of their economic standings. Although Colombia’s economy is not of the strongest position, it would like to extend its official proposition to aid other countries in need of assistance regarding violence associated with conflict minerals. Colombia understands the severity of these violent actions and with whatever power it has it would be willing to support those other nations. The Colombian government has never resorted to the aid of other nations and it is now finding that the participation in foreign affairs deems to be beneficial for both sides in future situations.
The country of Colombia would like to extend its assistance to those nations and keep up its presence on other in international relations; therefore its latency would be required in other continents, including those such as Africa and Asia, wherever severe conflict is present. Due to the strength of Colombian’s military, it is willing to aid those in need. The government of Colombia understands the severity that this situation can pose in developing countries and other countries with a weaker economy than in Colombia. Colombia requests the assistance of the Security Council to aid the Colombian government in the discontinuing of certain elements of illegal production of cocaine in its own member state. Therefore the resources needed to aid other countries more in need of aid would be more prevalent since the stressors illegal production of this drug has on the Colombian government and its people.
