The world is fast moving. Technological, scientific, economic, social, and other categories are making advances to become better and more efficient. People of the world have to keep up with the latest trends and change. Furthermore, people have to migrate in order to keep do so. Immigration has developed into a huge topic that needs to be addressed. This is such a big problem because population change effects other citizens of the giving and receiving nations. These problems can be economic, political, and more. Developing nations and powerhouse nations have different views as to who can be admitted into their country and legal processes are under review as to what is right.
People will live wherever they can support themselves and their families. Countries with big economies that have many jobs may have more incoming immigrants. The Dominican Republic, however, has many jobs due to its agricultural abilities. Throughout the years, immigrants from neighboring coastal countries and even as far as Asian countries have traveled in order to work in the sugarcane fields. Recently, the main nation immigrating to the Dominican Republic has been its neighbor, Haiti. Haiti is one of the fastest growing populations and is incredibly poor. Haitians migrate over the border to work usually unskilled jobs such as construction, cleaning, etc. The Dominican Republic's citizens have battled competition for these jobs. The Dominican Republic realizes that everyone in some way is a migrant. Migrants are welcome, however, applying common international legal standards is needed to help create a level playing field for migrants, employers and States.
This committee must take time to understand every view of the problem. There are many policies to choose from. The Dominican Republic wants immigrants to continue to do what is needed to be done in order to complete their lives, as long as there are legal requirements fulfilled. If those are regulations are not fulfilled, then that migrant is not welcome to this country.
