The Nation of Guatamala believes that people that have immigrated into our great country should be treated well since they are people and they have chosen to move to our wonderful country. There are an estimated 1.5 million Guatemalans in the US today (and 13 million in Guatemala) of whom an estimated 60% are undocumented. • Approximately 40,000 Guatemalans migrate to the US each year; 25-30,000 are deported annually. One plane full of Guatemalan deportees flies each day from the US.
Since there are many immigrants from our country in the United States, we believe that it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t treat immigrants in our country with utmost respect and if we mistreated immigrants in our country, it would be almost hypocritical. Our great country tries to help immigrants in our country and supporting them as much as possible in their new country of Guatemala.
Although our great country supports immigrants, we also give our own citizens more support. If someone has been living in our country for their whole life, we will try to help them more than someone who had moved to our country a few years ago. Our great country of Guatemala believes that we should treat the people that were originally of our culture with better perks such as healthcare and many other things.
Though we try to help immigrants into our country, we don't have much money, and we believe that our own people and culture should be prioritized with the money of our government.
