Switzerland is currently experiencing large amounts of immigrants coming into their country. Due to Switzerland's good economy and highly developed industries there have been a surplus of jobs causing this immigration. The immigrants are mostly coming from European Union nations. The total immigrant population makes up over 20% of the people living in switzerland. 85% of which came from European Union nations.
Switzerland believes that immigration is not the best thing. Immigrants take jobs from the locals. However, people should have the right to decide where to live. They should also be given the basic human rights and treated as if they were a citizen in the country. Switzerland believes that every nation should make it very difficult to immigrate. Immigration is bad and other countries make it too easy. Immigrants also cause high unemployment and are often minorities that cause unnecessary trouble throughout the country.
Switzerland makes it very difficult to immigrate into their country. They do not necessarily want immigrants flooding their population anymore then what they already have. To gain swiss citizenship one must live in the country legally, paying taxes, for 12 years and have an application approved. One can not have any criminal record. Even if one was born within the borders of switzerland does not make them a citizen. After an application is approved then everyone enjoys the same basic human rights. Illegal immigrants are not tolerated within Switzerland. If one is found to be illegal then they are immediately deported.
