The nation of Ethiopia has a long history of civil unrest. In the1970's because the people of the Ethiopia got mad that there was little economic and political change when drastic reforms should have been made. Our people were also very upset over the inflation and corruption in our nations government at that time. The nation of Ethiopia suggests trying to listen to the requests of its people before taking any other action in civil unrest.
The 1970s were a phase of Marxist rule in Ethiopia. The civil unrest ended after a coup had been executed, but the people who said coup killed there political enemies and ruled by their own accord; not what our people wanted. Currently, we have a democracy. However, as a nation experiencing multiple famines in the last century, we have had our share of civil unrest. The United Kingdom placed economic sanctions in 2005 upon the nation of Ethiopia. Consequently, such sanctions hurt our people and did not help solve the civil unrest.
Currently, Ethiopia is in a period of civil unrest. In August of 2014 athletes from the Ethiopian junior Olympic team fled the event in order to seek asylum in the United States. Their intent was to avoid returning to the civil unrest in Ethiopia. In conclusion, the nation of Ethiopia is open to suggestions for the international community regarding how to currently, and in the future, end civil unrest in our country and world-wide. As see Ethiopia is open to all options on the table, peaceful preferably.
