The Kingdom of Denmark strongly believes in improving accountability within all systems of government, especially the United Nations. It is important that the UN maintains transparency and common involvement is consistently maintained throughout the entire implementation process of the United Nations. Corruption in the United Nations will lead to increasing tension between countries and will damage international relationships. All participants in international delegation must be exceptionally responsible for. Allowing outside forces to provide to the United Nations so long as said forces seem to not have any connections to delegate that may lead to corruption, Screening outside companies that provide services must be enhanced to ensure that they have no corrupt history.
The creation of a committee to watch over the general assembly and enforce rules of accountability would greatly aid improved accountability. An ethics office, as well as a taskforce to protect those who were brave enough to leak information on corruption, and a review committee will be monumental helps to crushing corruption. Fortifying the Office of International Oversight Services (OIOS) would be the first step to ameliorating the accountability of the United Nations.
There are many ways to improve accountability at the United Nations, especially with increasing the amount of committees to assist in watching out for corrupt actions. These steps will be key to decreasing international corruption. Without specified committees and growth of OIOS corruption will continue to grow and international stability will continue to decrease. With more corruption countless decisions will be reassessed causing there to be even less efficiency to the United Nations.
