Syria has been involved with wars regarding borders including some recently disputed land called Shebaa farms along with another area called Golan Heights."All Members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the Purposes of the United Nations." Something that is said in the UN charter should be upheld, and Syria is outraged as a result of our land being taken from us. The United Nations Disengagement Observer Force is currently progressing a cease-fire between Syria and Israel. While they have been acting with a fair amount of success, we would like to see our territory returned to us, as the United Nations has done almost nothing for Syria except try to prevent us from regaining our land. With key facilities being destroyed with the approval by The Committee on Foreign Relations, Syria feels as though international support is often scarce and is more biased towards Israel in this matter.
Organizations like NATO should be responsible for handling incidents where unjust fighting occurs, but in places like Syria and Israel, other United Nations bodies should be responsible for dealing with territorial issues should be resolved. National threats like these should have already been resolved and our land given back to us. Our people believe that a vote in the United Nations will fairly resolve such issues. We believe that Israel especially would like to handle these kinds of issues since we have directly competed with them over land.
International territorial disputes should also be resolved through these means. Other countries have also not seen what true politics should be like and instead have only been able to see themselves warring over land. They have had almost no civil debates over land. They instead have chosen, along with us, to opt to sacrifice innocent lives for tedious causes. Countries like Israel, Iran, and other countries would most likely want to respond in a similar manner.
