The Kurdish people have been denied their right to self determination time and time again. They were given their own land to rule by the treaty of Sèvres, only to have it taken back by the Treaty of Lausanne passed in 1924. Kurdish militants (PKK) stood up for their independence the 1980s and 1990s but to no avail. The Kurdish people have been ignored by the international community, and its time we give them a chance to be self governed.
As most may know there is quite a large amount of turmoil in the Middle Eastern region. As of the moment the Kurdish people have used this unrest to seize lands for themselves in Syria and Iraq. They have even taken a step to create the nation of Iraqi Kurdistan, and yet are still not internationally recognized. The Turkish government supports their independence and is the only nation to give the Kurdish peoples citizenship. This Turkish backing shows that the Kurdish people deserve their independence and international recognition.
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea suggests that the member nations of the United Nations help create a resolution calling for a meeting between the leaders of all the nations who have Kurdish peoples residing in them and of the Kurdish people's voted upon leader or representative. If the Kurdish people decide within this meeting that all they want is full citizenship within the nations they reside, then that is their decision to make, but I highly suggest that the Kurdish people are given their own territory to govern.
