The Kurds are a group of people with very little comprehension and form, similar to the Jews before the end of World War II. This question is mirrored in the question of Israel, and whether the Jews should have their own swathe of land. Somalia is deeply concerned by the prospect of repeating this crisis yet again in just another form, and thus we can not support any work that seemingly supports the taking of land from members of the Arab League yet again.
The Kurds are not a prosecuted group. In the official question statement it is said that "the idea of a Kurdish state has been largely ignored by the international community, and the Kurds have often found themselves at the mercy of hostile or indifferent governments" The delegation from the Federal Republic of Somalia would beg the question, why has this question been largely ignored? Have all the world's governments turned a blind eye all at once, is this blissful ignorance? Or is there a more comprehensive reason behind this? I believe the question is definitely a more comprehensive reason: the Kurds are not enough of a demographic to allow a sovereign state whatsoever.
The Delegation from the Federal Republic of Somalia rests their opinion with in the lines of this paper, and hope that the words that lie wherein will help to sway the opinion of other delegates, countries, and other officials.
