Urbanization had been around since the early days when ancient peoples lived in the same area to farm food and do daily activities. Urbanization began in the city of Mesopotamia where tribes were found to be successful. Eventually cities gradually started growing in the area. Historians say that the growth of these cities in Mesopotamia were the result of the people struggling to cope with the environment. Today, as new technologies are introduced, the world continues to develop into more urban areas.
Egypt has always been pretty fast in development of cities and will continue to grow. Hosting some of the very first, and grandest, cities the world has ever seen, we are very familiar with the issues that come with such a demographics shift. With this fast growth rate, Egypt procures about 1 million citizens every 8 months. Egypt was always very agriculture based but after the revolution of 1952, the new leadership embarked on a policy of industrialization; developing various cities and huge factories. People see these developed cities as a place of hope, where everything is possible.
To solve this issue, Egypt is using alternative energy as a trade off to help with the economic issues of urbanization. Urbanization is a very effective tool if used correctly by world leaders. Even though it has a negative effect on the environment, with today's technology those problems can be balanced out and we can use Urbanization as an improvement in the growing future. But with all things we must make sure to respect a countries choice to choose for itself.
