The Human Rights Council is a representation of the fundamental rights for humans throughout the world. This is an important topic to address because of the rising issues of LGBT communities and their acceptance. The LGBT community needs this issue to arise to create a concrete protective policy for LGBT communities around the nation, just as Nepal has established. Nepal cares about the LGBT community because as part of the leading nations actively addressing LGBT rights, Nepal encourages the equality for LGBT communities around its own nation. Nepal believes in the equality of LGBT communities because as a part of the Human Rights council, the representation of human rights aligns with the necessity for equal rights for LGBT people. Nepal has passed legislation contained in their constitution that eliminates discriminatory laws and constitutes the acceptance of LGBT community members. Nepal has had meriting protection for LGBT Rights since 2007, when the Supreme Court ruled to protect LGBT rights.
Nepal is one of the leading nations around the global, actively promoting the study of same-sex marriage and the elimination of discriminatory laws in areas that are not accepting of LGBT people. Nepal has the protection of LGBT rights in the Nepali constitution. Nepal implemented the third gender identity-based category for people who do not identify themselves as male or female. Nepal strongly believes that people who wish to not associate with the gender assigned at birth or do not assert themself in a category of male or female should be provided a third option; the “E”- on a passport signifies third-gender option.
Nepal would like to address the LGBT issue by enforcing the acceptance and legalization of LGBT rights throughout the international community. Nepal desires to be a role model for other nations to follow in agreeance with the acceptance of LGBT members. Nepal, as an active participant in the promotion of LGBT rights, works toward the international acceptance and legalization of LGBT rights.
