The Republic of Liberia strongly believes that xenophobia and racism are highly deplorable acts. Unfortunately, xenophobia and racism have been in existence as long as minds have nurtured it. This committee should encourage equality to its fullest extent. We must set an exceptional example for future generations to come. In Liberia, racism and xenophobia are frowned upon since it is contradictory to Liberian principles and long standing values. And with humble historic roots of its own, Liberia understands the impact that racism and xenophobia have had and continues to have on the common people around the world currently. It is a critical issue to discuss because of the damage it inflicts on the lives of millions and possibly even more around the globe. In the past, there have been charismatic progressive values take off in various countries which would curb the ideologies of xenophobia and racism including The Republic of Liberia. As previously stated, both of these poisonous ideologies have been around for an insurmountable amount of time due to hearts filled with hatred and resentment. Our committee is obligated to mitigate these hindrances in any way possible and take all necessary measures.
This fixing of this issue is quintessential for setting a stellar example towards our future generations. It is relative to Liberia because of growing racial and xenophobic resentment in the western parts of the nation like some of the United States and other parts of the world. In Liberia, there have been stringent laws for people who are racist or xenophobic and tough penalties are constantly enforced. The Supreme Court of Liberia always decides within its ideology of equality and open-mindedness. Along with its law enforcement, Liberia also strives to curb racism and xenophobia by discouraging them on our national platform through speeches and testimonials.
The Republic of Liberia is honored and obligated to propose additional solutions to this societal menace. Liberia believes that education is key to curbing racism and xenophobia. Education is an indispensable tool in creating new values and attitudes and it further provides us with important tools for addressing deeply rooted discrimination and historical prejudices. Another solution would be to end racism and xenophobia would be to showcase the dangers of it on a world platform. With the influences and education of numerous countries, this particular issues can be combated with relative ease. This platform would be very similar to an awareness campaign and would educate individuals to be worldly and far more open-minded than currently. The committee should consider this duo of solutions because of its awareness spreading mission. With the 2 point proposal, xenophobia and racism would end.
