Net neutrality is defined as all data is treated equally, and not changed or used to an advantage. This means that all data has the same level of suppression no matter what type of information it is. Net neutrality is a very difficult goal to achieve because it may upset the people if the nation would set all strict laws on how people use the internet in that country, or if the nation establishes unstrict laws on everything on the internet that could and most likely will lead to a very important security breach online.
Vietnam does not believe in net neutrality. The government should have a right to decide what is allowed on the internet in the respective country. Suppression also allows for the government to know exactly what is happening on the internet and can track and stop threats a lot easier if they have full access. Suppression on the internet is a must and net neutrality would mean getting rid of suppression which is very dangerous. This would result in an increase of cyber terrorism threats, and/ or other issues that would be considered as bad or worse than that.
In conclusion, Vietnam believes that the government should be able to pick things out of the internet that is considered as a threat and to do this there must be suppression. Net neutrality would only make things very hard for the government to stop threats before they become more than threats.
