Sport has always been apart of a way to bring people together. Using global sport is what is needed to bring people, community, government, and countries together. In the summer of 2016 Brazil was the host of the summer olympic games, a global competition that had more than two hundred and seven countries participate in. Also, in 2014, Brazil had the honor in hosting the 2014 FIFA World cup, which thirty-two nations participated in.
Global sport is a great way to bring culture, and different ethnicities together. Brazil believes that it is important for all of the people in their country get to have a chance and to show off their culture to other people. The World Games of Indigenous brought more than fifty ethnic groups together, to participate in traditional games, and culture. Brazil believes that these games are a celebration of lifestyle.
Within the span of sixteen days, of the 2016 olympics brought two hundred and seven nations to one country to compete in various games. Using sport helped bring all these different athletes to one nation, to compete, make friends, and have to not worry about anything else. Brazil believes that the olympic games brought a pause in world conflict. There is a thing called an Olympic Truce, this truce dates back to ancient greece, and its purposeful meaning is to “lay down arms”, so that all nations can compete in peace.
By bringing countries together through sport, Brazil also believes it can be a financial, and economic benefit to developing countries. With recognition of countries, it can spark immigration, which helps underdeveloped countries boost their economic values.
Bringing ends to conflicts between countries is what Brazil is all about. The Brazil are looking for other ways to improve relations with other countries, and to help bring end to underdeveloped countries. Using other tactics, such as olympic games, to bring people from all around the world. Or the World Games of Indigenous to help culturally strengthen different ethnicities. Brazil believes that these strategies will be what ends conflicts between countries and its own people.
