This situation first arose in the 19th century and is mainly about tensions between Arab Muslims and Israeli Jews.It mainly accumulated around the Holocaust. It mainly stated after WWII when the jews immigrated into Palestinian territory and claimed a piece of it as Israel as a result from the United Nations General Assembly resolution. A conflict that came out of this was the Arab – Israeli war. This conflict took place from 1947-1949, shortly after World War II. Both the Israelis and Arabs were dissatisfied with British Policies. Because of this war 700,000 Arabs were expelled or fled their homes. There was also the Six-Day war in 1967. They were also involved in the Lebanese civil war, the 1982 Lebanese war.
There have been plenty of past actions, most have been peace summits. Many of these peace summits have failed or where not even close to finding a solution, but there are a few that have gotten really close. Such as the Oslo accords and the Camp David summit.
So far, they are working on a “two-state solution” the two state solution is just like it sounds, an Israeli state next to a palestinian state side-by-side in peace. but there are questions from both sides. And progress has stalled in recent years There has been the issue currently of the Jewish settlements in the Palestinian territories. They are still looking for a solution and meeting with UN on different situations like the settlement issue or israel's Military Police. In more recent news, Uruguay has officially recognized a palestinian state, even though they had no say on the borders. They haven't had too much say on the issue mostly because they are all the way in South America. But they have however, played a crucial role for israel because it was one of the first countries to recognize Israel as a state and the partition of territories in the Jewish-Arab states.
Looking at the current situation, it is possible that Israel, Palestine, Un, and Uruguay can work out a solution. The Oriental Republic of Uruguay looks to support the “two-state solution”. Mostly because it's the best solution that which will bring peace and end the conflicts. One that is equal to both sides. Palestinians show a strong interest in the two-state solution since the mid-70’s.
