The country of Afghanistan supports efforts in the Congo region and is in full support of the Lusaka agreement. We hope that the peacekeeping force in the area along with the government will be able to keep peace in the region and monitor elections so that they are fair and there is no fraud. We of Afghanistan support all efforts of the United Nations to ensure peace in the region and to ensure fair elections. Our country has always advocated peace in this region and wishes that the Special Political committee will do everything in its power to help stabilize the region and ensure fair elections. We of Afghanistan will support all efforts to ensure peace as long as it does not do anything that will limit the sovereign power of the government of Congo and doesn’t lead to any new conflict in the region. We of Afghanistan also believe that any resolution passed should be unbiased in all ways so as to prevent further conflict in the area. We hope that all nations will agree with everything that has been written down in this paper so as to ensure peace throughout the Congo region for as long as possible and fair elections.
