The nation of Mauritania has seen other nations with developing industry help promote growth in the economy and be able to gain a foot hold in the global economy with industries. We know that there can be some issues with pollution from the industry in that area but, when it can help nations that need the capital to help improve the economy forward and not at a slow growth. Since the nation of France leaving Mauritania we have been able to farm and have some industry in our nation but not enough.
After France left Mauritania in 1960 there was a democratic election that was held that had a new president of Mauritania elected into office. But since then there have been many military coups in the nation’s history there was one in 1978, 1984, 2005, and one in 2008. This had made it difficult to promote industry in our nation with this changing of hands in government. Still many people are working on farms and a small percentage in mines and in factory’s. Others have stayed to be nomadic people and relied on trade and farming for the most part.
This is why the nation of Mauritania needs to have industry for the growth of the economy and help social changes for people not having to be nomadic to live. With more industry we are able to gain a foot hold in the global market. This would help boost the GDP in our country and improve the life that people have in Mauritania.
