Afghanistan would like to have escalating violence stop like all nations but we believe that the ban of drugs and the plants that make them would be impossible. Afghanistan thinks that in order to stop violence that individual groups need to be stopped. We believe that its the country's job to stop violence between drug cartels and the people of its nation. If the nation is not able to stop the violence then it should seek the aid of the united nations or the help of willing countries.
Afghanistan thinks that stopping the production of narcotics would not be a effective way to stop the drug industry and there for violence. Also we think that it would be a high cost and ineffective battle that would never be resolved. We think it would also require to much man power and time to totally eradicate all drugs.
Afghanistan being a large producer poppy's knows first hand about drugs and what should be done. We think that not all drugs are bad and in fact can be very helpful. With our poppy plants we can produce morphine,poppy seeds, Codine, and many other useful drugs and products that can benefit man kind. Also the poppy plant is a large industry in Afghanistan making up 60% of our agricultural products. With out the poppy plant many farmers would be severely impoverished. For these reasons Afghanistan thinks that the cartels and drug lords need to be dealt with if the war on drugs is to be won.
