As the country of Austria we completely support the democratizitation of the Congo. As of May fourth 2006, Austrian Federal Government sent ten members of the Austrian Armed Forces to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to aide in framing a new Democracy.
To the request of the UN Austria supports all peace mission to the Congo. In order to support these peace missions members of the Austrian Armed Forces are stationed in the congo as military support of the forthcoming parlimentary and presidential elections. As a withstanding democracy we believe that all efforts must be made peacefully and that democracy is an esential step in positive development of the Congo as well as the rest of the African continent. The Congo’s positive development has a desicive influence on the stability of the surrounding African countries. Therefore we fully support all the peaceful efforts of the Congolese people to better themselves and their attempts in becoming a full democratic society.
In order to better support the new Republic of the Congo we have set forth the Africa Strategy. This policy will allow military and political support for the fledging democracy. These challenges of creating a new democracy in the Congo and the rest of Africa are not just the adversities of Africa but the adversities of all countries in the world.
