There are more deaths that are occurring each and every day due to the conflicts in Congo. These conflicts must be stopped immediately, but still in a civilized matter. Venezuela has just the solution.
One thing that we as Venezuela would strongly advise against was asking for help from the United States. Kabila had earlier requested help from the United States about setting up a steady and strong economy. Venezuela has already had some first hand experience about President Bush’s economic advice, which had negative effects. Therefore, we would recommend not taking any democratic or economic advice from them.
Another of the main things that is really causing problems is the elections. Over the last few years, many lives have been lost whether they are civilians or authority figures. The government is so messed up that even of the authorities, who are responsible for some of these pointless deaths, are not being prosecuted. The people responsible for these many deaths are under the leadership of General Laurent Nkunda.
Laurent Nkunda is confusing everyone to the point where not even the UN peacekeepers know what to do. He does have an army of rebels, but now a vast majority of these rebels are part of the Congo government. Nkunda has split the government in half between rebels and loyalists. No one really knows what is legal and what is not because there is no one to enforce the laws.
Venezuela does have somewhat of a solution. We would begin by limiting our major exports to one area. We would limit the major exports, such as oil and gold, to only being exported out of Kinshasa. This city is further away from the other countries that are benefiting from Nkunda’s actions. From there, I would just say that we build up the government from there.
