The nation of France is disappointed by the actions of the so called P5 nation of Russia. The nation of Russia has completely disregarded all of Georgia’s right to national sovereignty, their right of territorial integrity, and completely disregarded their right as a United Nations member state. Russia made a huge commitment to all OSCE participating states including Georgia which stated that the nation of Russia would in fact grant the nation of Georgia their right as an independent state, their right to national sovereignty, and territorial integrity, which all were broken when they invaded the nation of Georgia.
Although France is disappointed by the sovereignty violating actions Russia had committed, we do in fact congratulate the nation of Russia for pulling out in Aug. of 2008 and hopes that all of this turmoil will be stopped completely in the near future. The nation of France also would like the nations of Georgia and Russia to resume talks without further delay and use all negotiating formats including but not limited to:
A.The JCC negotiating format, and
B.Authorized delegations.
We reiterate the call for the immediate deployment of additional OSCE mission monitoring officers which would help police and help control borders in the nation of Georgia.
France feels that this situation could erupt into a much bigger situation than it is already and must be stopped as soon as possible. The nation of France is willing to co-operate with the nations of Georgia and Russia to help negotiate a solution for this problem.
