With a population over 6 million and growing rather rapidly many moving to the cities, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan needs a sustainable energy source for its citizens such as the one enjoyed in many modern countries, Western, Gulf, and East Asian.
For the last decade Jordan has been working to achieve a nuclear program. Many countries support Jordan’s quest for peaceful nuclear technology including Canada, United Kingdom, Spain, China, Argentina, South Korea, and most importantly France and Japan. Japan has been the biggest supporter of Jordan’s nuclear program; the two countries have signed an agreement of Nuclear energy cooperation.
As the closest Arab ally to the United States, Jordan would like assistance from the United States and other countries to help supply the needed parts as well as oversee the nuclear power plant to assure that the enriched Uranium isn’t being used for dual use technologies, and that fissile materials are protected from weapons diversion and other nefarious deeds.
Jordan would accept oversight from the UN International Atomic Energy Agency officials or inspectors from nations such as Japan, France, or the United States to monitor the plants. As a strong Arab ally to the West, yet with positive relations to the Arab world as well as Israel, it is in also in these nations best interest to assist the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in assisting us in keeping our citizens supplied with their growing energy needs.
Jordan seeks to work with all other countries in the near future to work to safeguard the Peaceful Development of Nuclear Energy and Fissile Material Control.
