There have been many debates about the use of space. Space has been used for so many different things, from satellite to space garbage. One of the biggest concerns is space turning into a military base. Many countries oppose this happening, but there are some, mainly the ones already in space, that are in favor of it. The United Nation’s Office for Outer Space Affairs is mainly concerned with basing weapons in space which could lead to international instability.
Haiti does not have many affairs with space. Haiti is not in space, and does not plan on getting there any time soon. Although we are not there yet, we are still concerned about this topic. We do not approve of the militarization of space. One day if we do get to space, we would only hope for it to be safe and clean environment. With countries having weapons in space it puts all other countries at risk, causing unpleasant affairs between countries. Another concern we would like to address is space junk. We do not want any country shipping their garbage into earth’s orbit.
We would like to propose the signing of a worldwide non proliferation treaty for outer space to protect the peace in earth’s orbit. Other peaceful countries such as South Africa would agree with the signing of this treaty. This treaty will solve all arguments over the issue and prevail peace in outer space.
