Hello, I am representing Haiti on the topic of protecting humanitarian workers in conflict zones. Haiti stands by protecting humanitarian workers in conflict zones. Our beautiful homeland of Haiti has had to endure many natural disasters that has left our nation in turmoil. One of these natural disasters was hurricane Katrina. We again thank all you that helped us in that dark time. After the hurricane we were blessed to be given the gift of help from many of our fellow nations of the world. Once we had humanitarian relief we really then only realized that the protection of humanitarian workers was a big deal and should be greatly enforced. We believe that the United Nations should put more effort into protecting the humanitarian workers because why should the workers lives be at risk.
Haiti believes that the United Nations should put together a small army that should only be used on the basis of humanitarian relief in conflict zones. With the creation of a new army only used for protecting the humanitarian workers, we can then assure the safety of workers. This will then hopefully increase the amount of humanitarian workers because people wont have to worry about getting injured when they go help a fellow nation.
Haiti is truly thankful for being given the opportunity to speak on the basis of protecting humanitarian workers in conflicts zones. We really hope you put our idea into consideration because we truly believe it will help.
