With all of the trouble in the world, Brazil understands that immigration is sometimes a necessity. Brazil understands that people have to leave countries for their own safety. In times of war especially, Brazil is open to helping out refugees and giving them a safe and comfortable country to live in. However, Brazil does not believe that everyone should have the right to emigrate to their place of choosing. There is a worldwide shortage of jobs, and additional immigrants coming into countries and taking such jobs away from locals should not happen. Skilled professional immigrants should also have the chance to emigrate as long as they properly apply for a working visa and respect laws. With a struggling economy, Brazil has to make sure that immigrants aren't taking over our workforce and that current citizen's jobs have as much stability as possible.
Brazil feels that it is acceptable for nations to deny certain rights to immigrants. By letting them into our country, we are doing the immigrants a huge favor. Brazil feels that immigrants should know what they're getting themselves into, though. They should be aware of the laws in the country in which they are emigrating to and should know what will be expected of them when they enter such country. Before immigrants have the opportunity to achieve citizenship, Brazil feels like they need to prove themselves as worthy citizens. Learning the local language and proving themselves good people are two things that Brazil feels should be looked at closely before countries allow immigrants to become citizens. Brazil feels that states should look closely at immigrants based on who they are. There should not be a single definition for an immigrant as immigrants come from such a variety of different circumstances. The rights of immigrants should be looked at by a case by case basis.
