Austria profoundly feels that conflict free zones are needed around the world. They are very important not just to limit the death toll in innocent civilians, but also to the children and their well beings psychologically. When children experience war in their everyday lives they develop trauma similar to a soldier, this standard of living is unacceptable. Every child needs an at least adequate standard of living. This includes clean water and fresh foods that are not contaminated in any way shape or form, and a stable home environment away from any conflicts that may arise from the zones near the non-conflict community. You have to be very careful when you create a non-conflict zone to make sure that you're not impeding on national sovereignty. To do this we can use funding from NGOs and other non-governmental based ways of funding to make sure that these non-conflict mean it is can be not biased towards one country.
We need to offer security detail to these non- conflict zones not to create conflict in the area and will be trying to take advantage of this area of non-conflict and provoke and create as much conflict as they can. We need to make sure that they are properly trained to do this job because sometimes people will try to get this job and allow some people from one country to another to enter this non conflict zone causing lots of problems. This can be avoided by using UN peacekeepers and only if necessary using properly selected civilians. Austria believes that nonviolent methods of keeping the communities safe will not work because even if the country agrees with the stance there will be insurgents that will not listen to the
One of the hardest things to do is to maintain the stability of these zones; this can happen with bi annual food and water checks along with safety checks. Also biannual corruption checks should be made by third parties to obviously avoid corruption.
