Jordan is extremely concerned about the Kurdistan situation. Jordan is currently home to some 30,000 Kurdistan refugees because of unstable situations such as the political unrest in Syria; our nation is taking in refugees and we do not have the resources to take care of them. We are in need of financial aid and more security. Jordan is known for our peace in situations of political unrest, but to be peaceful with the Kurds we must give them a say in our region of the Middle East.
The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan believes that the creation of a new country should benefit the Kurdish people. The Kurds could finally have a place to live in peace without having to flee from country to country. A new country might help unrest in the Middle East since Kurds may bring stability to a war torn region. With the political unrest in Syria, millions of Kurds have fled from their homes to neighboring nations. This is a huge concern because some of these nations may not have the financial ability to support these refugees.
We must work together to make the Kurds feel welcome in our nations and provide them with privileges such as visas, until we can give them a stable country to live in. We cannot treat them like they do not belong anywhere. In order to welcome these people and give them rights, Jordan needs financial aid and support from fellow Middle Eastern countries and all nations willing to help. Segregating these people will do nothing, and allowing them to have their own country might help to solve some issues in the Middle East. Together we can help the Kurdistan people.
