The County of New Zealand is firmly pro nuclear disarmament through it may be a long and very tedious process to control nuclear weapons but if all countries agree to follow the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and abide by its standards, the world may finally reach a time when there are no nuclear arsenals.
Even though the country of new Zealand has no nuclear weapons it has been a nuclear free zone scene 1987.The County of New Zealand has been a nuclear free zone since 1987 when the New Zealand nuclear free zone disarmament and arms control act was passed by the Fourth Labor Government. This act not only promoted and encouraged contribution by the country of New Zealand to the necessary processes of disarmament in internal and international arms control. It also implemented a number of treaties in the country of New Zealand, including the South Pacific Nuclear Free Zone Treaty and also the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
The country of New Zealand passed the New Zealand nuclear free zone disarmament and arms control act this made New Zealand’s territory including all ocean territory and airspace, the law also prohibited entry into the internal waters of New Zealand by any ship whose propulsion is entirely reliant or partly dependent on nuclear power, and also banned the dumping of radioactive waste within all areas of the nuclear-free zone, as well as prohibiting any New Zealand citizen or resident to manufacture, acquire, possess, or have any control over any nuclear explosive device or weapon .
