The Sectarian Conflict is a major worldwide issue which has or is currently affecting every country in one way or another. Sectarian Conflict causes countless deaths every year worldwide. With little to no sign of slowing down anytime soon in most parts of the world. However areas which are showing signs of improvement are places such as the Phillipines who have been successfully fighting extremist muslim terrorist groups such as the infamous M.I.L.F. or more commonly known as the “Moro Islamic Liberation Front”. Areas of the world where terrorism and internal strife are most prevalent, and attempts to stop it are far more unsuccessful are places like the Middle East and more specifically Iraq and Syria with their ongoing conflict with the terrorist group ISIS. Other places which are well known for their Sectarian Conflict are the Ukraine with their ongoing conflict with rebel groups in the east and there suspected support from the Russian Federation. As well as in Afghanistan with the almost constant fighting of the Taliban which has resulted in deaths through the decades, and with the United States committing their drone strikes on terrorists so close to civilians, it was just a matter of time before an accident occurred. These accidents which have mainly occurred in southern Afghanistan and northern Pakistan have caused some tense relations between the United States and Pakistan for some time now. Africa as a whole is in need of support from all around the globe, from the blood diamonds of South Africa to the constant turmoil in Egypt and Libya, help is urgently needed in so many parts of the world.
The Republic of Turkey is involved in its own sectarian violence, we have been battling ISIS and other terrorist groups on our eastern and southern border for some time now. Turkey cares a great deal about the Sectarian Conflict and the committee because, unlike with the South China Sea dispute, Sectarian Conflict will for sure directly affect us and our view of how effective the United Nations can really be in times of severe and urgent crisis. Although the times are tough from economic woes and difficulties and the situation seems to only be getting worse as terrorist groups make great strides in their campaign of death and destruction. Turkey has great confidence the United Nations will not waver nor show any sign of weakness in these pivotal moments.
The Republic of Turkey would like to see resolutions which involve increased drone strikes on enemy combatants, Turkey admits drone strikes have been very effective for its own war on terror and strongly recommends them to all nations encountering Sectarian Conflict. A good nation which would be able to help would be the United States of America. Turkey would also like to mainly see coalitions of local governments, which is not to say Turkey wants to see western nations shunned from helping, but just an increased effort from the immediate surrounding nations first and foremost. Turkey would also like to see resolutions which would help prevent Sectarian Conflict from happening in the future. The United Nations believes in prevention of disasters, so if the world is to try to prevent them, then the United Nations must start young. Education is essential from a young age, it would give children more opportunities in jobs later in life and make them less likely to have time to start or join a conflict. Nations could educate the masses more by building public schools and flying in teachers from around the world to help teach the students and to teach the next generation of teachers, the costs could also be funded in part by the world bank. The United Nations could also have the nation in question or the immediate surrounding nations employ those who have fallen on tough times as mass builders of public works. Or even set up collective farms to be worked by struggling farmers. The education and jobs would have the effect of creating more food as well as lowering the unemployment rate. Turkey strongly sees these plans of action working because most people who go off to join conflicts are on tough times and have been for some time. However if Sectarian Violence is not to far from the current situation, then the United Nations could send in peacekeepers to help separate and defuse tensions within the country while things work themselves out. Things to watch out for which might indicate future sectarian violence would be hate crimes, such as because of race or religion. Turkey expects support from the Ukraine, Syria, Russia, China and the United States Of America.
